Tournament History and Facts

The Rogue Valley Cup Soccer Association Inc. is a 501c(3) Nonprofit Oregon Corporation. The Rogue Valley Cup Soccer Tournament was founded by Mike Dunn 18 years ago. Mike's desire was to allow youth soccer players from the Rogue Valley to be able to play premier caliber teams from other states here at home and not have to travel up state or out of state.

Historically, teams from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada and California participate in this tournament. Teams come from as far south as Southern Cal and Las Vegas. Some of the other areas we consistantly pull teams from are Seattle, Portland, Reno, Sacramento, San Fransico, Fresno, Van Couver, Boise.

The Rogue Valley Cup Board and committee are all unpaid volunteers. It was decided after the tournaments 3rd year when it started to draw a profit for the first time that the tournament would now become a booster for soccer in the Rogue Valley. The Rogue Valley Cup Soccer Association has helped to fund many soccer projects and requests over the years from soccer clubs, school districts, high school soccer teams, city parks and recs, competitive teams, individual players, and other youth groups that have helped the tournament.

 3100+ players (boys and girls) ages 10 thru 19

 7000 parents and siblings accompanying these players

 = 12,600+ Players, Parents, Siblings and Spectators

 

 60% of teams come from Ca, Nv, Wa, Id.

 70% of our teams are Premier, Class 1, or P1

 35-40 of our teams are current Gold, Silver, Bronze State Cup Medallists

 All 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th place team players receive individual awards

 1332 Medals, Trophies, and Plaques given out on Monday

 

 All games have 3 referees

 All of our Referees are USSF Certified

 60% of our Referees come from out of the area & 3 surrounding states

 40% of our Referees are USSF Level 7, 6, 5

 

 4 game min. guarantee to all teams (something we started 17 yrs ago)

 Free Program to every player

 Free tournament pin to every player

 Free parking close to the fields at all three venues

 Free entry for spectators to Goalie Wars

 Free participation for your team's goal keeper in Goalie Wars

 

 All of our fields are plush low cut "grass"

 All fields have player benches

 All players benches have 10 x 10 EZ-UP Canopies over them

 All player benches have a full 5 gallon water jug next to them for players

 All Venues have a Field Marshall Booth with communications

 All three venues have their own Certified Sports Athletic Trainer on site all day

 All three venues have on site or on call Ambulance or Paramedics

 All three venues have food and drink concessions

 All three venues have a retail tournament T-shirt/Sweatshirt booth
