History and Facts
The Rogue Valley Cup Soccer Association Inc. is a 501c(3) Nonprofit Oregon Corporation. The Rogue Valley Cup Soccer Tournament was founded by Mike Dunn 18 years ago. Mike's desire was to allow youth soccer players from the Rogue Valley to be able to play premier caliber teams from other states here at home and not have to travel up state or out of state.
Historically, teams from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada and California participate in this tournament. Teams come from as far south as Southern Cal and Las Vegas. Some of the other areas we consistantly pull teams from are Seattle, Portland, Reno, Sacramento, San Fransico, Fresno, Van Couver, Boise.
The Rogue Valley Cup Board and committee are all unpaid volunteers. It was decided after the tournaments 3rd year when it started to draw a profit for the first time that the tournament would now become a booster for soccer in the Rogue Valley. The Rogue Valley Cup Soccer Association has helped to fund many soccer projects and requests over the years from soccer clubs, school districts, high school soccer teams, city parks and recs, competitive teams, individual players, and other youth groups that have helped the tournament.
